The booking confirmation, the quote, the reply to an enquiry. You sent it. As far as you know, they ignored you. As far as they know, you never bothered to answer.

The first is sending mail in a way the big providers trust. Email has a set of behind-the-scenes checks that basically ask "is this sender really who they say they are, and are they allowed to send for this domain." Get those wrong, or leave them half done, and your perfectly honest email looks exactly like the dodgy stuff, so it gets treated like the dodgy stuff. We set them up properly, so mail from your business is recognised as actually yours.
The second is not assuming. We now track the important messages through to delivery and flag any that were delivered but never opened, so a message quietly sat in someone's junk folder turns into something to chase, rather than a silence we misread as them not being interested.
See it, do not guess

The thread running through all of it is dead simple. "It probably worked" is not good enough for anything that matters. Either you can see that it worked, or you are guessing. With email, most people are guessing, and it is costing them work they will never even know they lost.
